Job Summary
Housekeeper cleans and services all hospital areas and buildings, arranges furniture in an organized manner, and keeps equipment and storage areas clean and orderly. No access to patient health information, with potential access to medication storage areas related to responsibilities. Shift is 3rd shift, PRN. Requires ability to read/write and follow directions, familiarity with cleaning equipment, ability to clean blood and body fluids, replenish supplies, and safely handle hazardous chemicals. On-the-job training provided; physical capacity includes lifting up to 30 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write and follow written and oral directions
- Cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
- Must know how to use cleaning equipment (i.e. vacuum cleaner)
- Ability to clean blood and body fluids
- Ability to clean furniture, windows, restrooms, walls and dust mop and damp mop hard surface floors
- Must be able to replenish all paper supplies, waste can liners and handle hazardous chemicals correctly
- Physical requirements: must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
