Job Summary
The Housekeeper cleans and services all areas of the hospital and all buildings owned by the hospital. They arrange furniture in an organized and orderly fashion, keep equipment and storage areas clean and organized, and may access medication storage areas related to job responsibilities. Role is 1st shift, PRN, with on-the-job training. Responsibilities include using cleaning equipment (vacuum), cleaning blood and body fluids, replenishing paper supplies, proper handling of hazardous chemicals, and maintaining clean restrooms, furniture, windows, walls, and floors. Physical requirements include full body motion and ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write and follow written and oral directions
- Cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
- Must know how to use cleaning equipment (i.e. vacuum cleaner)
- Ability to clean blood and body fluids
- Ability to clean furniture, windows, restrooms, walls and dust mop and damp mop hard surface floors
- Must be able to replenish all paper supplies, waste can liners and handle hazardous chemicals correctly
- Physical Requirements including standing, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
