Job Summary
Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, clinical units, procedure areas, and surgical suites while adhering to infection prevention and regulatory policies. Documents accurate records of work using daily shift checklists and discharge checklists. Transports soiled linens, trash, recycling, and biohazard waste to utility areas, and stocks clean linen and supplies in assigned locations. Performs daily ultraviolet robot disinfection in operating rooms, ICU discharges, and isolation rooms. Properly uses personal protection equipment and cleaning chemicals per standard operating procedures. Reports safety issues or repair needs to the EVS Manager or Lead Housekeeper.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Must be able to read written instructions, labels, training materials and check lists in English
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills to work professionally with co-workers in all departments
- Ability to communicate with patients and visitors
- Good physical dexterity utilizing suitable body mechanics
- Stamina for sustained periods of time
- Flexibility to changing priorities in daily workload
- High level of dedication
- Attention to detail to meet infection prevention standards
Desired Qualifications
- Housekeeping or Janitorial experience in a medical or hotel setting
