Job Summary
Clean and sanitize common areas, cottages, apartments, and healthcare units to "like new" condition, including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, and windows. Remove trash from collection areas and exercise waste control while using cleaning chemicals and supplies properly. Represent the campus positively by maintaining proper uniform, interacting well with marketing tours, and handling resident complaints constructively. Complete all work orders timely, attend required training and in-services, and respond to medical emergencies or evacuations if necessary. Maintain confidentiality of medical information per HIPAA standards and uphold fire and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Janitorial or maintenance experience
- Ability to work with minimal and close supervision
- Ability to conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to use hand tools, carts and dollies
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors during the work day
- Climb up to two flights of stairs
- Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head
- Move objects of 40 pounds or more
- Ability to work under time-sensitive or stressful situations
- Respond to medical emergencies on a rare occasion
- Assist with resident evacuations, if ever required
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification from a janitorial program
- Two years experience in a similar housekeeping position
