Housekeeper Laundry Aide

Job Summary
Maintain facility cleanliness by cleaning common areas, resident rooms, bathrooms, and floors including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Provide excellent customer service to residents, family, and staff while assisting with moving furniture and equipment. Perform day-to-day laundry functions by collecting soiled items, washing garments and linens, and distributing clean laundry daily. Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, empty trash receptacles, and report broken equipment or safety issues to the supervisor. Wash windows, disinfect surfaces, and assist with cleaning wheelchairs and equipment in accordance with established procedures and public health code compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take appropriate action
- Ability to visually assess all aspects of facility
- Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop and have fine hand coordination
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred but we will train the right candidate
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- Understands the practices surrounding the proper handling of biohazardous waste
