Job Summary
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of assigned areas by cleaning lobbies, restrooms, elevators, and common spaces to meet health standards. Vacuum carpets, shampoo upholstery, sweep floors, and polish surfaces using appropriate equipment. Empty wastebaskets, transport trash, carry supplies, and disinfect equipment while observing safety precautions. Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and damage to the Maintenance Supervisor. Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations for social functions. Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required. Work in a residential environment with exposure to outdoor weather and chemical solutions.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year experience in hotel / condominium housekeeping department
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and how to properly use them
- Ability to use standard cleaning equipment within a residential building; vacuum cleaner, floor polisher, cleaning cart, etc.
- Must have the ability to react and address all emergency situations in a timely manner
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk and climb stairs
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to crawl in small and tight spaces
- Ability to stoop and/or kneel
- Ability to lift and/or move and/or carry up to 20 pounds in the work environment
- Ability to push cleaning equipment up to 30 lbs
- Ability to handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers
- Must be able to work around chemical cleaning solutions
- Must be able to work in the outdoor climate and weather conditions
- Must be able to observe all State, Federal and Company safety standards/precautions
- Must be able to observe precautions required to protect Residents, guests and property
- Must be able to report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors
- Must be able to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment
- Must be able to respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Must be able to promptly report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or other property-related problems to the Maintenance Supervisor
