Job Summary
Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and facility areas including tub/shower rooms, offices, kitchens, and lobbies daily according to established procedures. Maintain order in resident spaces while treating all individuals with dignity, and practice infection control policies. Secure cleaning chemicals properly and promptly report needed repairs to the Housekeeping Supervisor. Assist with weekly and monthly major tasks and react appropriately to emergencies. Attend required in-service education and staff meetings as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, speak and understand English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information
- Ability to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Must be able to use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be able to use units of weight measurement
- Must be able to use units of volume
- Must have exceptional communication skills
- Must have customer service skills
- Must be empathetic
Desired Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Housekeeping experience in a long term care facility
- Housekeeping experience in an institutional setting
