Job Summary
Cleans patient rooms daily, sanitizing vertical and horizontal surfaces, spot washing walls, removing trash and linen, and completely cleaning restrooms. Performs ancillary area cleaning including nurses' stations, utility rooms, waiting rooms, and specialty zones such as OR suites, emergency departments, and intensive care units. Executes basic tasks like vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, and delivering clean linen. Uses appropriate chemicals and guidelines while actively participating in safety initiatives and completing required safety competencies. Interacts with patients, families, and visitors with a warm, friendly demeanor to ensure a welcoming environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must be able to comfortably interact with patients, families, and visitors
- Must be able to present with a warm smile and friendly demeanor
- Must be able to clean patient rooms daily
- Must be able to sanitize all vertical and horizontal surfaces
- Must be able to spot wash walls and windows
- Must be able to remove trash and linen
- Must be able to completely clean and sanitize restroom
- Must be able to dust mop and damp mop
- Must be able to clean ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, med rooms, pantries, clean and soiled utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, offices and other areas not specified
- Must be able to clean specialty areas including OR Suites, Pre-Op and Post Op areas, Emergency Department, Intensive and Critical Care Units, Labor Delivery Units, Pediatric Units, Mental Health Units, Oncology, Radiology, Labs, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Geriatrics, Kitchen areas and more
- Must be able to vacuum
- Must be able to dust mopping
- Must be able to damp mopping
- Must be able to low dusting
- Must be able to high dusting
- Must be able to stock supplies
- Must be able to deliver clean linen
- Must be able to use appropriate chemicals and guidelines when performing tasks
- Must be properly trained on required tasks
- Must be able to complete all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis
- Must comply with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement if in an on-site or hybrid workplace category
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
