Job Summary
Clean common areas and offices of Building A, including disinfecting furniture surfaces, vacuuming, dusting, and sweeping classrooms. Empty trash receptacles, clean and disinfect bathrooms, and wipe down or lightly sweep common areas in dormitories and lounges. Address spills, soiled areas, and unnatural conditions affecting tiles and carpets while ensuring work areas remain hazard-free. Store cleaning equipment and paper supplies properly, implement infection control and safety procedures, and report broken equipment or hazardous conditions. Assist in ordering inventory for cleaning solutions and supplies. Work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Familiar in calculating basic math (including equations in addition, subtraction, multiply, and divide).
- Able to follow all educational institution, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Ensure that he/she is able to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to provide customer service towards students and co-workers with professionalism.
- Frequently required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to talk and hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally push, pull, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience in an educational setting, preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification, preferred.
