Job Summary
Perform a variety of cleaning duties to ensure the facility physical environment meets established standards for cleanliness, sanitation, infection control, and safety. Maintain the cleanliness of floors and furniture using a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals. Project a professional image while communicating effectively with hospital staff and writing/understanding written instructions. Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant and apply knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Utilize computer and software applications used in job functions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience as a housekeeper
- Verbal ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff
- Ability to write and understand written instructions
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year of housekeeping experience
- Previous healthcare housekeeping experience
- Ability to project a professional image
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
