Job Summary
Maintain patient rooms, baths, showers, procedure rooms, laboratories, offices, and hallways in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner per established policies. Perform terminal cleaning for discharged patients, sanitize isolation areas, and clean all vacant areas to ensure readiness for occupancy. Clean windows, mirrors, carpets, walls, and floors using proper disinfecting solutions while managing wet floor signs and hazardous areas. Make beds, strip rooms, restock linen, and ensure supplies including admit kits and personal protective equipment are replenished. Dispose of waste according to protocols and report unsafe hazards or defective equipment. Work in all facility areas, including outbuildings, with willingness to work beyond normal hours and take on-call rotations. Communicate with nursing and other personnel while adhering to safety, security, and health regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to constantly push and pull equipment, furniture, etc.
- Ability to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to use machines needed for work
- Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and take a fair share of on-call hours
