Job Summary
Perform daily cleaning of resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and common spaces including floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and carpets. Clean and polish fixtures, remove dirt and debris, sanitize surfaces, and maintain proper inventory of supplies. Execute terminal cleaning procedures for discharged residents and follow established infection control and safety protocols. Report hazardous conditions, equipment failures, and accidents to supervisors while maintaining resident confidentiality. Store tools and supplies properly and attend staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors
- Ability to properly use supplies and maintain equipment
- Ability to maintain appearance of housekeeping areas in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner
- Ability to work harmoniously with personnel
- Ability to seek new methods and principles
- Ability to be willing to incorporate new methods and principles into housekeeping practices
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Ability to follow established fire-safety policies and procedures
- Ability to assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year experience in a health care facility
