Job Summary
Clean and sanitize rooms, furnishings, and floors; perform laundry duties including collecting, sorting, and delivering personal clothing. Execute floor care, window washing, and linen delivery while maintaining carts, work areas, and equipment in a safe, orderly manner. Operate company vehicles and machinery safely; follow universal precautions and infection control protocols when handling biohazardous waste or residents. Monitor resident well-being, report behavioral or physical changes, and assist with internal moves and function setups. Participate in continuous service improvement meetings and emergency drills. Maintain records of processed clothing and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Work flexible schedules with on-call availability for emergency calls.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, and/or receive oral or written instructions
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to carry up to 30 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to distinguish smells
- Must be able to see well enough to determine whether or not surfaces are clean
- Must be flexible in relation to change of duties and work areas
- Must demonstrate ability to work directly with the elderly in a one-to-one situation
- Must be able to communicate clearly what your tasks are
- Must be able to concentrate on detail with frequent interruptions
- Must be able to access to transportation with little or no notice
- Must be able to get a message by phone for emergency call-in purposes
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds unassisted
Desired Qualifications
- High school education or GED preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Previous experience in working with older adults preferred
