Job Summary
Housekeeper/EVS at MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville locations; responsible for a clean and safe hospital environment by performing surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, bed-making, trash and linen handling, and maintenance of patient rooms and discharge units to hospital standards. Performs audits for quality control, adheres to isolation procedures, maintains supply carts and equipment, reports repair needs, and supports a dynamic health-care team during day shifts with weekend/holiday rotation. Requires ability to work with cleaning chemicals, follow safety procedures, and communicate effectively with staff and patients.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred
- Must be able to become familiar with use and care of housekeeping chemicals and equipment
- Must be able to work with and accept varying demands of the patient, public and other employees
- Able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with all members of the health care team
