Job Summary
Permanent full-time housekeeper responsible for light duty cleaning, laundry, linens, and waste removal in a seniors housing setting. Responsibilities include cleaning washrooms, dusting, polishing furniture, vacuuming carpets and draperies, floor care (mopping and scrubbing), changing linens, in-house laundry, reporting maintenance needs to the Community Manager, maintaining storage inventories, and ensuring supplies are stocked. Requires minimum 1 year of experience in geriatrics or housekeeping, knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment operation, strong communication and customer-service skills, honesty, reliability, and physical fitness. Must pass Criminal Records check with Vulnerable Sector Search; Grade 10 or higher; available to work evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10 or higher
- Minimum 1 year experience in housekeeping or geriatrics
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety data sheets
- Proficiency with operation of cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of seniors housing terminology
- Must be bondable by corporate insurer
- Current and clear Criminal Records check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Ability to lift items over 20 kilograms and perform physically demanding tasks
- Evenings and weekends availability
