Job Summary
Cleans and sanitizes residents' apartments and common areas by removing trash, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing baths and toilets, and cleaning glass. Replaces restocks supplies, deep cleans assigned areas, shampoos carpets, washes windows, and responds to residents' cleaning needs in a timely, respectful manner. Prepares apartments for move-in, cleans up after accidents, maintains equipment, and ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by taking orders and resetting dining rooms. Reports safety concerns, repairs, and low supplies to the Director while maintaining confidentiality and following infection control procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned. Flexible schedule with some weekends and holidays required.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess interpersonal skills to communicate with residents, families, visitors, and staff in a way that ensures the safety and security of the residents.
- Must have knowledge of housekeeping procedures and practices.
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise.
- Must be able to read and understand directions on cleaning solutions and equipment to avoid risks.
- Must be knowledgeable of the location of the MSDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines.
- Must have compassion and genuinely care for the elderly.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently.
- Must be available for weekends and holidays.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in housekeeping in a health care or hospitality service preferred.
- Must demonstrate a SERVANT heart and attitude by following our Mission Statement.
