Job Summary
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment at each facility by vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning floors, windows, handrails, and doorknobs. Collect and remove all refuse, trash, and garbage, while properly disposing of medical and non-medical waste, including biohazardous materials. Clean glass doors and windows as needed, and perform thorough disinfection of clinical spaces, examination rooms, and equipment with a strict emphasis on infection control. Prior to clinic opening, clean medical records, reception areas, conference rooms, and the medical director's office. Assist other staff by delivering supplies and equipment, and support pharmacy operations by damp mopping floors, emptying waste containers, and cleaning sink areas and dispensers. Strip, wax, and shampoo flooring as necessary while adhering to AAAHC standards, state, and federal regulations.

- Effective oral and written communication skills with sensitivity to the lifestyles of targeted participants.
- Skills in operating personal computers using a variety of computer software.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with management, coworkers, and outside contacts.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all applicable federal and tribal privacy laws and KIC policy (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.).
- Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as with teams.
- Knowledge of appropriate use and application of cleaning solutions and solvents.
- Knowledge of infection control regulations.
- Ability to handle weights and loads.
- Ability and dexterity to use equipment safely.
- May be required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license or capable of obtaining one, as well as be insurable by KIC's company insurance.
- Must adhere to KIC drug and alcohol policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace.
- Must pass a pre-employment and subsequent random and/or for-cause drug and alcohol screening to be eligible for and maintain employment.
- Must comply with the P.L. 101-630 Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Protection Act (ICPA) if in a covered classification.
- Minimum of six months of experience in basic housekeeping and cleaning, disinfectant use, and hazardous waste handling (Housekeeper I).
- Minimum of one year of experience in basic housekeeping and cleaning, disinfectant use, and hazardous waste handling (Housekeeper II).
- Proof of valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, except as approved in writing by the Tribal Administrator (Housekeeper I).

Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in basic housekeeping and cleaning, disinfectant use, and hazardous waste handling.
- Experience in community clinic preferred.
- A strong commitment to multi-disciplinary teamwork.
