Job Summary
Clean common areas, guest restrooms, and residents' apartments according to schedule, including vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting bathrooms, and mopping floors. Respond to resident emergencies following proper policy, report supply needs and hazardous conditions to the Maintenance Director or Executive Director, and notify supervisors of changes in residents' conditions. Maintain confidentiality, practice infection control policies, and ensure cleaning supplies are stored safely. Obtain 24 hours of continuing education in the initial year and 16 hours annually thereafter, while maintaining CPR and First Aid certification. Stand or walk up to eight hours daily, frequently support up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Desire to work with older adults
- Friendly, caring disposition
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a satisfactory criminal history check
- Must have physical exam by a licensed physician
- Must have a negative drug screen
- Must understand the risk of exposure to infectious waste, disease, chemicals, solution, and disinfectants
- Must be able to react in an emergency situation
- Must be able to stand/walk up to eight hours a day
- Must be able to sit up to two hours a day
- Must be able to frequently support up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to frequently kneel, bend, and reach
- Must be able to secure proper assistance for transferring of residents as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Must obtain 24 hours of continuing education in initial year of employment and 16 hours annually, thereafter
- Must maintain CPR & First Aid certification
