Job Summary
Housekeeper-1 responsible for cleaning and sanitizing areas to prevent disease spread, proper disposal of hazardous waste, and sterilization of equipment. Duties include following infection-control guidelines, waste removal, cleaning assigned areas, moving furniture and supplies, operating cleaning equipment (floor machines, buffers), participating in department meetings, and maintaining clean, safe conditions in patient and non-patient areas. Requires physical stamina (lifting 35lbs+), standing/walking for long periods, and the ability to use various cleaning tools; shift is 40 hours weekly in the evening at Mass General Brigham facilities. Skills include knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe application, vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and general cleaning procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Some High School Completed
- Experience related experience 0-1 year preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely
- Working knowledge of vacuum cleaners and floor buffers
