Job Summary
Manage the overall operation of a historic 1,000 m2 residence in Amsterdam, overseeing housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe, and external contractors while maintaining exceptionally high standards. Prepare healthy, family-friendly meals and weekly menus, sourcing high-quality ingredients and managing entertaining for dinner parties. Coordinate cleaners, organize storage, and ensure the property remains beautifully presented for guests. The role requires 45 hours per week Monday to Friday, with occasional additional hours for family dinners. Candidates must be live-in or live-out, with a private apartment provided for live-in staff. A seven-month contract is initially offered, requiring an EU passport, Dutch residence permit, recent police check, and professional cooking experience. Fluency in English and a love of animals are essential, as the family includes two children and may have a dog.
Required Qualifications
- at least 3–5 years of experience in private household housekeeping, household management, estate management or luxury hospitality
- ideally with experience working in large properties
- highly organised
- proactive
- discreet
- able to work independently
- Fluent English speaking
- Right to work in the Netherlands (EU passport)
- Up to date criminal background check (/VOG) or get one now
- Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Valid passport for international travel
- Good references for recent Jobs
