Job Summary
Conduct afternoon pickups from neighborhood bus stops or enrichment classes, providing light supervision until parents return. Manage household organization by building systems for toy rotation, seasonal clothing swaps, and daily resets to maintain a tidy home. Handle inventory and errands including restocking the pantry, managing subscriptions, processing mail, and coordinating dry cleaning. Support meal preparation by grocery shopping, chopping vegetables, and preparing healthy snacks and school lunches. Maintain laundry, refresh linens weekly, and care for the cat by managing the litter robot and water filters. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, checking smoke detectors, and occasional deep cleaning of the fridge and oven.
Required Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Reliable personal transportation
- Clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Must be comfortable using a location tracker when transporting or accompanying the child
- Up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines
- Must be able to maintain a smoke-free environment
- Experience working with children
- Confidence in abilities without needing hand-holding
- Ability to create order and calm for a family
- Reliability (showing up on time, every single time, without exception)
- Trustworthiness (responsible for child's safety and wellbeing)
- Organization and detail-orientation
- Professional yet warm communication style
- Awareness that the family's time is valuable
- Ability to handle general home maintenance tasks including changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector checks
