Job Summary
Supervise operations of the med/surg unit and emergency department while ensuring safe, high-quality, cost-effective services within budgetary guidelines. Coordinate staffing for current and on-coming shifts, conduct house-wide rounds, and act as a primary RN in the ER and Inpatient Departments when required. Serve as a resource person to staff clinically and administratively, including acting as the night shift representative for nursing management. Lead/ensure completion of competency verification for all nursing staff, participate in EMTALA chart audits, and assist with policy development and staff education planning. Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding staff and clinical situations, maintain awareness of applicable laws and regulations, and promote a positive, professional image both internally and externally. Requires current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Iowa, BLS certification, and ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of 3 years as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Iowa
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- TNCC certification
Desired Qualifications
- Supervisor experience
- Willingness to complete ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC within 12 months of hire
