Job Summary
Oversee hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, monitoring census, and coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers. Act as the administrative point of contact for staff, patients, and families during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, addressing inquiries, resolving conflicts, and responding to emergencies or disaster situations as the incident commander. Supervise nursing staff, provide clinical guidance, conduct rounds, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Complete the midnight census, facilitate communication between staff and physicians, and assist in departmental budget management and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
- 1-2 years of related experience in the profession
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships
- Communicate effectively with leadership, team members, and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with others, delegate responsibilities, and independently manage tasks while meeting established deadlines
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- In depth knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory compliance
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Google and Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools
- Must be available for assigned shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Must comply with all policies and standards
