Job Summary

Supervise day-to-day operations at the site, ensuring Direct Support Professionals deliver services according to policies and procedures. Directly supervise and participate in the orientation and training of Direct Support Professionals, while managing overall household maintenance and the prudent spending of financial resources including general budgets, payroll, and petty cash. Maintain all individual records and agency records, periodically auditing them to ensure compliance. Develop therapeutic working relationships with individuals, staff, families, and regulatory personnel. Make, provide transportation to, and attend medical, dental, and psychiatric appointments. Assist individuals with daily routines including household tasks, cooking, self-care, and behavior management. This role requires flexible hours including split shifts, weekends, and overnight coverage, with a weekend on-call rotation. Cross-trained at other sites to cover shifts as necessary. The position involves frequent travel into the community, crisis management, and contact with potentially hostile individuals.

Required Qualifications

  • 18 years or older
  • high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Three years of experience delivering services to persons with disabilities
  • Six months of service in a DSPIII position or six months of supervisory experience
  • valid driver's license
  • access to an insured vehicle
  • clean driving record
  • ability to pass a DHS background study
  • basic computer skills
  • comfortable with independent decision making and problem solving
  • management/leadership experience
  • passion for helping others
  • ability to work flexible hours, including split shifts, varied days and times, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnights
  • ability to cover shifts as necessary
  • ability to work weekend on-call rotation
  • ability to travel regularly into the community
  • ability to work in a variety of settings both inside and outside the site
  • ability to handle frequent interruptions, crisis management, and imposed deadlines
  • ability to sit, walk, bend, lift, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • ability to engage in frequent problem-solving activities
  • ability to have regular contact with individuals, family members, friends, federal, state or county regulatory personnel, other provider personnel, and the general public
  • ability to interact with physically aggressive individuals
  • ability to be exposed to infectious diseases, odor, and dust
  • Monday-Friday 8 AM - 4 PM availability
