Job Summary
Two-person married couple hires for Full-time Flex Houseparents to live on Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA. Collaborate to provide care, supervision, mentorship, and a family-like environment for a large group of students (about 813) in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive benefits. Requires two spouses to complete individual applications and to be legally married for at least two years, with both spouses aged 27 or older.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
