Job Summary
House Parents are a two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent team for Milton Hershey School. The couple resides in on-campus student homes and provides care, supervision, guidance, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students, driving activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational events, and leading daily devotions with Sunday Chapel. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, budgeting, and reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and transitions to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same student group. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple), relocation assistance, health benefits, retirement options, paid time off, and training. Requirements include youth-related experience, a valid U.S. driver’s license with driver training certification for student vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to lead devotional activities within a Judeo-Christian campus setting. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
