Job Summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents to reside in on-campus homes in Hershey, PA, and to supervise and support groups of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially, couples work nine consecutive days on duty, then three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students in their own home. Compensation is $46,917 per person (about $180,000 total per couple, including free housing and meals), plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Qualifications require experience with youth, a legally married two-person couple, both spouses aged 27 or older, up to three dependent children in the home, a valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, and the ability to lead devotions and attend Sunday Chapel. Required Qualifications

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth
  • Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
  • Both spouses must be age 27 or older
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
  • Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
  • No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
  • Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
  • Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
  • Willingness to relocate to on-campus homes and reside with students
  • Ability to follow a schedule with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off
  • Relocation assistance and paid training provided
