Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School, a two-person married-couple role residing in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 813 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later transitions to a Placed Houseparent living with the same student group. Includes relocation to Hershey, PA with comprehensive benefits, paid training, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Felx Houseparents reside in on-campus homes and manage student schedules
- Proselytizing prohibited
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
