Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same student group in their own home. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year minimum when considering married-couple requirement
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
