Job Summary
Married couples relocate to Hershey, PA to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, living on-campus and providing care, supervision, and guidance to a group of ~813 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, mentoring students, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-on / three-off schedule across multiple student homes, with eventual placement as a consistent Houseparent. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, and paid training. Requires two-spouse, 27+ years, valid driver’s license, youth experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus and no alcohol on duty. To be considered, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples; both must apply individually
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- On-campus housing and full-time schedule with nine days on, three days off (initial)
- Proven integrity and professionalism
- Ability to follow budgeting and household reporting
