Job Summary
Two-person married couple role residing on campus in Hershey, PA, providing supervision, mentorship, and guidance for a group of approximately 813 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, managing student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, and conducting daily devotions with Sunday Chapel. After initial placement, couples transition to a permanent houseparent role with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person $44,768 (roughly $168,000 total for the couple), comprehensive insurance options, retirement savings, relocation assistance, and paid training. Requires a valid U.S. driver license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, willingness to relocate, and adherence to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. The position is full-time, on-campus, with a work schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. drivers license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
