Job Summary
Married couples are hired as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School to reside on campus in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of about 813 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and ensuring student wellness. The role begins on a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Compensation is $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple with benefits and housing), plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Experience with youth or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Ability to drive student home vans
- Planned for nine days on, then three days off schedule (Flex Houseparents)
