Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and care for a group of approximately 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The nine-on, three-off schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed Houseparent living in the same student home. The role includes relocation to Hershey, PA with comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouses married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model for students
- Willingness to complete individual employment applications for both spouses
