Job Summary
Full-time two-person Houseparents role at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA (on-campus student homes) for married couples. Houseparents provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of ~8–13 students, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition from nine days on / three days off to a placed Houseparent living with the same student group. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; salary per person is $46,917 with total compensation around $180,000 per couple. Requires on-campus residence, on-duty responsibilities, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
