Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couples) reside on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, providing care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. Benefits include salary per person with relocation assistance and comprehensive coverage; requires a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27 or older, valid driver’s licenses, and a high school diploma or GED.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role model for students
