Job Summary
Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA (with eventual placement in the same student home). The two-person team provides care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students, including daily supervision, mentorship, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially they follow a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, then transition to a placed houseparent role living and working with the same students. Benefits include salary per person (~$46,917) with total couple compensation around $180,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications, and relocation/training is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver\'s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Relocation and paid training provided
