Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (married couples) reside in on-campus homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working with youth (volunteering acceptable)
- Willingness to reside in on-campus homes and follow a mixed duty schedule (nine consecutive days on duty, then three days off)
- Must complete individual employment applications for both spouses
