Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, to supervise and mentor groups of 8–13 students in a family-style home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and later transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same students. This two-person couple role requires relocation, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, a high school diploma or GED, and both spouses to be at least 27 years old; ongoing benefits and relocation assistance are provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse requirement: both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet restrictions: fish and one approved dog allowed
