Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School: Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside on campus in student homes, provide supervision and mentorship to ~8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and oversee budgeting and reporting. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three off; later transition to a fixed student-home placement. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768), comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training. Requires high school diploma or GED, US driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and two-person married couple with both spouses age 27+, willing to live on campus and adhere to campus policies (smoke-free and weapon-free; alcohol-free while on duty). Both spouses must apply individually for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
