Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent roles at Milton Hershey School require a married couple to reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, and guidance for groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent by living and working with the same group of students. Requires high school diploma or GED, both spouses age 27+, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Relocation assistance is provided. Salary is $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple with benefits) with comprehensive benefits and paid time off; role located in Hershey, PA with on-campus housing and meals while on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
