Job Summary
Milton Hershey School seeks a two-person married couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on an on-campus campus in Hershey, PA. The role involves residing in a student home with approximately 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and support; administering medications; driving students to activities; planning and leading developmental and recreational activities; leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel; and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The position operates on a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule during the initial phase, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Requires experience with youth, a valid U.S. driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, and eligibility to work in a two-person married-couple arrangement with both spouses age 27+. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
