Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School to reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 813 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring youth, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading development and recreational activities, daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a Flex Houseparent to a Placed Houseparent role. The schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; relocation is provided as part of the role. This is a two-person, married-couple position with benefits including salary per person, comprehensive health benefits, retirement options, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-models for students
