Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for married couples to reside on Milton Hershey School campus, providing care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students in a single home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a fixed student home. Relocation assistance provided; compensation per person is $44,768 with total couple compensation around $168,000 including housing and meals. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, HSAs/FSAs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse two-year marriage requirement
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Experience with youth preferred
- No alcohol on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet restrictions (fish and one dog of approved breeds)
- Household budgeting and reporting
- Medications administration
- Excellent integrity and professionalism
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
