Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on-campus in student homes, provide supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan development and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Chapel, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The role begins as a nine-on, three-off schedule, with eventual placement in a single student home. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a legally married two-person couple with both spouses aged 27+, valid driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, experience with youth, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; relocation to the assigned on-campus home is provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year married status
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- Legally married for at least two years
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Willingness to reside on-campus in a student home
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Ability to commit to nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off (flex structure)
- Desire to work as a two-person houseparent couple at Milton Hershey School
