Job Summary
Milton Hershey School seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at their on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support to a group of approximately 813 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and working a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years married or more
- Spouses both aged 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children reside in the student home
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA area
- Two-person role for married couples
- Pass background checks and clearances as required by school policy
