Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School: a two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role where married couples reside in on-campus student homes guiding 8–13 students, providing supervision, mentoring, daily routines, medication administration, and youth activities. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with possible transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
Additional Requirements
- Must be a legally married couple
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
