Job Summary
House Parents for Milton Hershey School: Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside on-campus in CHENOA, IL to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, manage daily routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition from nine days on / three days off to a placed houseparent role. This two-person married-couple role requires both spouses to apply individually, offers relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and housing/meal support, with on-site duties and live-in responsibilities in a family-like residential setting.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse requirement with both spouses applying
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel attendance (proselytizing prohibited)
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
