Job Summary
Two-person, married-couple role at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA as Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes (8–13 students per home) and provide supervision, mentorship, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine-on/three-off duty to a placed houseparent arrangement with the same student group. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive insurance, retirement options, paid time off, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Legally married for at least two years (two-person role)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
