Job Summary
Two-person married couple role serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. The pair resides in on-campus student homes and provides care, guidance, supervision, and support for roughly 8–13 students, fostering a family-like environment to support academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off into a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation per couple around $168,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
