Job Summary
House Parents (Full-time Flex Houseparents) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School to care for a group of 8–13 students, overseeing daily supervision, routines, medications, transportation to activities, devotional and chapel involvement, budgeting, and household reporting. The position begins with a nine days-on, three days-off schedule, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Compensation includes a per-person salary of $44,768 annually plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. The role requires a two-person, married-couple arrangement and may include relocation to Hershey, PA; both spouses must complete separate applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Houseparent role requiring two individual applications
